It was early in the morning. My sick girlfriend decided she needed to suck it up and go into work. I decided to get out the crock pot and initiate for her an 8 hour-long chicken soup for dinner. The aroma of slow cooked organic chicken, carrots, celery, yellow onions, garlic and spices would be a welcome home comfort meal for her tummy.
But kids, it is more than that!!!!!
You see, a well-made chicken soup has some antibiotic properties. Just like medicine, this delicious concoction is chock-full of protein, fluids, salts and phytochemicals. In addition, it opens up the nasal passages, soothes the throat and aids in accelerating the immune process to mop up the bad bacteria.
P.S. You don’t have to be Jewish for it to work!
