The industrial revolution is over! At one time, schools were designed from grade 1-12 just to enable us to work for the “man”. More times than not, you graduated from high school and then you would find your industrial/retail job. Upon accepting the “position”, the routine begins for what seems like forever. You are told when to come in, when to leave, what your duties are and what benefits you will be given to work these set hours. Loyalty was to devote your entire working life to one company. They would pay you enough to support your family including medical benefits. As an incentive, you would be given a pension plan and full medical benefits till your demise.
That has all changed. Please read my Dec. 2 blog about Walmart and their employees.
We have reached a point where corporate is not going to pay you enough to survive on your own, not counting what it costs to be head of a family. Medical benefits continue to erode with regards to how much the employer pays and then decreasing in quality/quantity when you use those benefits. We continue to pay more medical out-of-pocket for fewer services. In addition, fully funded pension plans have become 401K plans where in 2011, 7% of all employers paid nothing into the pension plan.
It’s not the recession or the threat of a fiscal cliff drop-off but a complete 360 degree turn on how society is moving away from industrialization. Major work layoffs have been going on for decades. Corporations are either outsourcing to other countries, automating human processes or just going bankrupt. The “system” is broken.
REST IN PEACE!!
If you think you are protected because you went to college, in addition maybe even graduate school, think again. Many jobs out there for professionals are high stress, salary, possibly “adequate” benefits and a high burn out rate. Ask around. Many employees feel like cattle being prodded and controlled before ultimately being mentally bullied and butchered.
What is the answer? Your own business. But in this case, unlike most employers, you have to be honest and straight forward.Developing a person-follower base by first providing trust, loyalty to the customer and making a difference with the offered product or service.
Now, I can’t tell you what to offer. Everyone has a unique and different way to provide an innovative “it” to everybody. I can tell you that you have to start somewhere. All you need is a way to access the internet, a viable mind and the ability to dream.
Me, I always wanted to be a teacher. I loved being able to see the fruits of my labor spread far and wide making an impact on society. That is why I am here. This is what I do to make a difference. You help me, help you, help me, to make our world a better place. I want to thank you all for that.
Devote some time and turn on your machines. Merge onto the internet taking the first step to make positive changes in our world. These changes will be mirrored back to you.
I want to recommend a book called Lynchpin* by Seth Godin. He has authored many works that will inspire and change your world. He has opened my eyes and made me realize that there was a path to freedom and happiness. It’s not an easy road to follow. Anything worthwhile requires patience, time and persistence. Like the old proverb, the journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step. Make the commitment. No excuses. Start the trip now!

Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favourite justification seemed
to be on the web the easiest thing to have in mind of.
I say to you, I certainly get irked at the same time as other people think
about concerns that they plainly don’t recognise about. You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and also defined out the entire thing without having side effect , people can take a signal. Will probably be again to get more. Thanks
