Gauntlet From Cancer In Blue/Green

Cruciferous is the name and protection is their aim. A family of vegetables, whose flowers have a shape resembling a cross (Latin, Cruciferae stands for cross-bearing).

They help to lower the risk of cancer. Cruciferous vegetables inactivate (neutralize) chemicals in the cells that may lead to cancer. The greens include brussels sprouts, kale, bok choy, radishes, turnips and below:

List Of Cruciferous Vegetables Goes On And On

Vegetables have protective factors that guard against disease within themselves. Factors are known as phytochemicals (plant protective chemicals). Upon entering most supermarkets, you are confronted with vibrantly colorful, fresh produce. Each different color is a different phytochemical (antioxidant). A cornucopia of even more colors in produce, are sometimes hidden away under dominant green. There is more antioxidant protection in produce than meets the eye. Similar in comparison to green leaves, that fill up every space between the branches on a tree. Other beautiful colors are hidden away under the dominant green till the tree starts hibernating for colder weather. Leaves then stops producing green pigment and the other colors become visible to the eye.

Oxidation is a normal process within each and every one of our bodies. Our air, contains life-giving oxygen, is a two-edged sword. The shiny, sharp edge allows us to perform to our maximum capabilities. But oxygen also causes negative oxidative changes, flooding our body with free radicals (unstable body chemicals). In our youth, antioxidants produced by the body neutralize and usually stop any damage from propagating. As we age, risk increases when we allow the accompaniment of excess fat, smoke, polluted environment, inactivity, low dietary produce, etc. The body is overwhelmed by the excess oxidation, resulting in cancer and/or cardiovascular deterioration. This is where our boys in green  come in and splash out the oxidative fires. Protective phytochemicals prevent damage from initiating in the first place. Prevention is the key, rather than trying to play catchup. When runaway free radical damage becomes excessive, the situation sometimes gets out of control. Left unchecked, you risk low quality of life and death.
